The greatest comeback in NBA Playoff history

14 06 2008

It’s not the win of Boston Celtics in Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals the greatest comeback in NBA Playoff history but the Los Angeles Lakers roaring back and win the NBA Championship and deter the “Big Three” of Boston Celtics to their first ever NBA Championship.

Kobe Bryant will lead his squad to a Game 5 victory, probably he will carry his team and be the same old Kobe that we all know- a ball hog. He has given his teammates the chance to prove themselves but they all falter, especially the two international players – Pau Gasol and Sasha Vujacic, both of these players disappeared defensively in Game 4. It only shows one thing, lack of experience and youth on their part.

For sure coach Phil Jackson will make the necessary adjustments and motivations for his boys in Hollywood, as of this writing, when I checked the news at Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers did not practice today instead they just watch the last game and probably want to figure out what went wrong.

I am still pinning my hopes with the Los Angeles Lakers to win it all and beat the Boston Celtics.

This is Kobe Bryant’s magical year, it’s not because I’m a big Kobe fan but I want to see him win another Championship and prove that he can lead a team with him being the leader of the team. He is the closest heir to Michael Jordan not LeBron James nor Dywane Wade or other superstars in the NBA.

To add this is also the second chance of Phil Jackson to surpass the late Boston coach Red Auerbach with most wins as an NBA Coach, both have 9 rings.

Yeah we all know that Celtics also made some changes and see where they are now. Celtics have the worst record last year and made the biggest turn around of wins this season.

In the end, the greatest comeback in NBA Playoff history belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers, trailing 3-1 in a best of seven series and winning three straight at the expense of the Celtics.

This may sound a cliche but according to Adidas – Nothing is Impossible!

NBA Commisioner wrote a letter to me

6 06 2008

With the 2008 NBA Finals is underway between two of the most fancied basketball franchises in the league – the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics at Beantown in Boston. I was not surprised at all with the media hype that is going to happen between these two rivals.

When I opened my email yesterday I saw a message coming from NBA’s top honcho – the Commissioner himself David Stern sending a newsletter to me, since I am a member of their “NBA Fans Club” to say the least. The subject line was “A special message from the NBA”. Curiously, I immediately checked the email and read it. I know that this was part of their marketing strategy to promote the 2008 NBA Finals. Looking back last year’s NBA Finals between Tim Duncan led San Antonio Spurs against LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers. The Finals game was the lowest-rated NBA Finals ever were done. I saw this coming on their part to bounce from a terrible year that the NBA experienced in recent years

NBA Commissioner David Stern

Yeah, we all the know the media attention these players would get with the likes of Kobe Bryant and his Los Angeles Lakers squad together with their foes the Big Three of Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. NBA wants to redeem their once good image back to their fold and take advantage of this scenario. Boston Celtics versus Los Angeles Lakers rivalry will be renewed.

Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers Rivalry

Here’s the official letter of NBA Commissioner David Stern to me. You also might want to be a member of this group, just join it’s free.

By the way I’m rooting for the Lakers; this is the year of Kobe Bryant and the 2008 NBA Finals is just the icing on his cake and on his way to his fourth NBA Ring. Los Angeles in 6.

MVP: Kobe Bryant

10 04 2008

Do I need to say more what the Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant has done this 2007-2008 NBA Season?

Kobe Bryant is the best baller in the planet right now, throw all you criticisms about him being a selfish, peeved player who cursed the management and fellow teammate Andrew Bynum and demanded to trade him last summer if he will not get any decent teammates that will help the Lakers to win another NBA Championship.

The result.

The LA Management listened to Kobe and pulled of one of NBA’s unreasonable trade in recent history disposing Kwame Brown, who was a number 1 pick and rookie Javaris Crittenton for a seven footer Spaniard Pau Gasol from Memphis Grizzlies.

Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant, a three time champ should win the MVP Honors this season, this is his time, actually Kobe should have won it already at least twice, he has been the best player for the past five years no offense to Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Lebron James and other NBA Superstars. His other competitors in the MVP Race are New Orleans Hornets’ Chris Paul, Cleveland Cavaliers’ Lebron James and probably throw in Phoenix Suns’ Amare Stoudemire. But this will be just down to two with Paul being the second on the list. As of this writing, the Los Angeles Lakers are the second seed next to New Orleans Hornets in the very tough Western Conference. Kobe does not need to prove anything; he is a champion, a scorer, and a born leader. Kobe has led his team without there two seven footers Bynum and Gasol, Bynum was sidelined since mid of January while Gasol came in after the trade deadline in February and still the Lakers are among the leagues best.

His teammates have flourished with the likes of Sasha Vujacic, Jordam Farmar, Vladimir Radmanovic and his sidekick Lamar Odom. All players are averaging career highs in minutes played and points per game, and not to mention the confidence Kobe has given to his teammates so that when playoff time comes the Lakers will make it to the 2008 NBA Finals.

KB24 will be my Most Valuable Player this season.
