Rakaza Party!!

17 10 2007

(this was written last month in my other blog, i just want to post this to promote our event)

Even typhoon “Hanna” could not stop the first charity event entitled Rakaza- Rock for Hope last Saturday. Oyatoya kicked off the affair playing their alternative rock music that warmed up the audience at the packed Decagon Place in Silver City Mall in Pasig.

The event even got hotter as rock bands Funkarnival, Rubberpool, Badburn, Spy, Brightclub, Valve 8, Epic, Moi, and Basilica strut their way out with their rocking tunes. On the other hand, Booths from Shakeys, Bread Factory and San Miguel kept the rockers thrilled and recharged.

Global Village Academy, the organizer of the event, is a recently established organization dedicated to improving job seekers’ ability to interview and communicate effectively with international employers in the Philippines and overseas. Also Global Village Academy aims to help street children of Metro Manila by providing support, educational scholarships, temporary shelter, etc.

Children from ChildHope Asia also performed a dance number on the stage to the awe of the audience during the short intermission.

Radio Active Sago Project kept the festivity rocking as they started to play their music. They were followed by Urbandub causing pandemonium, rockers went wild, screamed and head banged as they played their songs.

Sinosikat?, an up and coming band, with their pinoy soul style of music played for the night cap of the Rakaza- Rock for Hope Charity Event.

Rakaza!- Rock for Hope was indeed a successful event with the great performance of the bands, the rockers who supported and went to the party as well as to all the benevolent sponsors that made the charity event possible.

Proceeds of Rakaza!- Rock for Hope event will be donated to ChildHope Asia Philippines. ChildHope Asia Philippines is a non-profit, non-government organization operating in more than 20 locations in Metro Manila and assists over 2,000 street children who struggle to survive on the streets every year.

Rakaza!- Rock for Hope is the just the first of many events that Global Village Academy will be doing. For more information feel free to visit www.globalv.org and join the social network as well, so we could send them email notifications of upcoming events.
